    What makes your smoked salmon special?

    We use traditional European smoking techniques in an open-fire brick kiln, creating a rich, natural smoky flavor. Our salmon is high-quality, hand-selected, and sustainably sourced, with no artificial preservatives or additives.

    How should I eat smoked salmon?

    Smoked salmon is ready to eat and perfect for:

    • Bagels with cream cheese and capers

    How should I store smoked salmon?

    Refrigerated, unopened: 21 days for cold smoked, 28 days for hot smoked

    Refrigerated, opened: Keep well wrapped, best consumed within 3–5 days

    Frozen: Up to 12 months

    Can I freeze smoked salmon?

    Yes! To maintain freshness, store in an airtight container or vacuum-sealed bag before freezing. Thaw in the fridge overnight for best results.

    Do you offer single-serving portions?

    Yes! We offer convenient, pre-sliced, takeout-friendly portions, perfect for quick meals and on-the-go snacking.

    Is your smoked salmon sustainable?

    Around 80% of the fish we buy from suppliers is ASC certified which means they are evaluated to have acceptable water quality, responsible sourcing of feed, disease prevention, animal welfare, fair treatment and pay of employees, and maintaining positive relationships with neighboring communities.

    Can I cook with smoked salmon?

    Yes! Since it’s already cured and smoked, it’s best to add at the end of cooking to preserve its texture and flavor.

    Where can I find the Best By date on your package?

    On our retail Cambridge House packages, the Best By date and Lot Code is located at the very top or very bottom of the backside of the package. Alternatively, it could be placed on a sticker in the window of the package.

    Is your salmon considered Lox?

    Traditional Lox are ‘cold smoked’ and we do offer cold smoked offerings. Lox, or cold smoked salmon, are cured with salt and are smoked at lower temperatures. Lox retains more features of a raw salmon fillet whereas hot smoked salmon is more flakey in texture.

    Is Cambridge House Smoked Salmon farm-raised or wild caught?

    Both! The smoked salmon that is wild will specify wild caught.

    Are there color-added ingredients in the feed?

    Some ocean farm suppliers use the FDA approved natural colorant, Astaxanthin, in their feed. This colorant is identical to the types absorbed by salmon in the wild from eating krill and other planktonic organisms and is a source of antioxidants.

    Is Cambridge House Smoked Salmon Kosher?

    Yes, we are KSA Kosher certified.
